User Guide for Electronic Child Support Payments
The National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) has prepared a
guide to help employers and their financial institutions with the current
formats, definitions and implementation recommendations to remit child
support payments and payment information electronically through the
Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network according to the current conventions
and standards. This method speeds up the income-withholding process and
allows the employer to realize the numerous benefits of electronic funds
transfer (EFT) and electronic data interchange (EDI).

If Your Employee is Called up for Active Duty
You may have an employee who is called to active military duty. For those reservists who owe child support, it would be helpful if
you would:
-
Contact the child support agency that issued the income
withholding order
-
Tell them that your employee-reservist has been called up
to military duty
-
Provide the date of activation.
The child
support agency can then issue a new income withholding order to the military
service branch.
By providing
this information, you are helping your employee avoid lapses in payment to
his or her children while serving our country.
